The hospital inherits its legacy of caring for members of the public from the legendary Dr. Abdul Husain, better known as “Arastu Yar Jung”. Serving as the First Surgeon to the Sixth Nizam of Hyderabad, this title was bestowed upon him for his outstanding service to the royal family, as well as his undying commitment to the community.

Arastu Yar Jung is perhaps best known for welcoming into his home those affected by a bubonic plague epidemic that affected this region in the 19th century, offering them medical care, food, water and shelter. Here at Nisa Hospital, we are proud to carry forward his legacy, being direct descendants of this benevolent man, and espousing all the values that he stood for. So far, we have successfully delivered 30,000 babies and counting, and have handled innumerable gynecologic medical procedures.
